Trick or Treat

This is a card that my friend Jessica made.  I don't have this stamp set, but I thought I would post it because I like it.

It's a simple card, but so cool.  Happy Halloween!!!!

Coloring Down the Lines - Baja Breeze

Well, I had a lot of trouble coming up with a design for this week's challenge.  Our challenge is either Baja Breeze, More Mustard and Cherry Cobbler, or Baja Breeze, Cajun Craze and Basic Gray.  I chose the first color combination for my entry this week.  I know we were concerned we might not get our posts up in time because we're getting pounded here on the East Coast with Hurricane Sandy.  The winds are howling and we had non-stop pouring rain all day.  I think we got upwards of 6" so far.  I know Carol was busy at work getting her card designed for this week, and I guess that's where you just came from.  Here's what I created ~ and trust me, it took me all day to come up with this idea (and it's really not that hard).  hehehe ..

I sure hope next week's challenge doesn't take this much thought.  I must have just been empty today because I was on a roll all weekend creating.  Maybe I'll just blame it on that.  Anyway, let's hop on over to see what Sandy made this week.  I'm always anxious to see everyone's cards.  Love, Love, Love!

Thanks for continuing to join us each week for our blog hops.  We love having you.  In fact, why don't you join us next time?  We'd love to have you.

Halloween Kitty or Frightening Feline

I have another Halloween card for you this evening.  This is the card I made for my dad.  I know he likes kitty cats, so this was the perfect choice for him.

This is the inside of the card.  I thought it was cute.  I was having fun with the spider webs.  I just love them.  Since I don't have the spider web embossing folder (I have to get it), I decided to use the stamp instead.  Hope you like it.  Stay tuned for our blog hop tomorrow.  It's Coloring Down the Lines - Baja Breeze.  In the mean time, hold your hat on .... the wind is howling here like crazy and we haven't had the worst of it yet.  Take care everyone.

Halloween Witch's Brew - Whoops

As promised, I'm sharing another one of my Halloween cards I made on Saturday.  I planned to start my Christmas cards, and also make the baby cards I need to finish, but that never happened today.  I had some last minute errands to run before the hurricane hits.  It's getting a lot colder outside, and it started raining already.  We're expecting the storm to get worst tomorrow night into Tuesday.  Work is closed for tomorrow, and if we're able to log in, we can work from home.  I'm supposed to be off tomorrow anyway, so I hope to spend the day making my cards then.  In the meantime, here's the Halloween Witch's Brew - Whoops card.  The title should give it away ...

I got the inspiration for this card from Anja Beckmann.  I loved the witches brew pot and it was easy to make.  I hope you like this card.  Thanks to Anja for a cute idea.  I hope to post again tomorrow, depending on the storm and in hopes of not losing power.  Stay safe and dry.

Spooky Halloween

I was on a roll today creating Halloween cards.  I don't know what got into me, but for some reason, that's all I wanted to do today.  I have all of my Christmas cards to make, as well as a baby gift too.  I guess I'll work on the baby cards tomorrow, and if I have time, start my Christmas cards.  Never-the-less, I thought I'd share some of my Halloween cards with you.  Here's one I call "Spooky Halloween".  Hope you like it.

This is the inside of the card.  I just love the "cob web" stamp.  I used it on a lot of my cards today.  Stay tuned tomorrow for another one of my Halloween cards.  Cheers!

Scentsational Season - Sending Christmas Wishes

Since I was posting our team swaps, tonight, I decided to share my shoebox swap Christmas card.  I used the Scentational Season's stamps set for mine and thought I would make it simple, but a little elegant.  I also used the Apothecary Accents Framelits for the sentiment.  Here's my design:

The biggest hurdle for me was matching the different designer series paper (DSP). It took about an hour to figure out which pattern I wanted t use, and what order to put them in.  I wanted them to be "just right".   I used the Festival of Prints dsp paper pack for this card.  I am pleased the way it turned out, and I hope you do as well.

Until tomorrow, stay safe if you're in the path of Hurricane Sandy.  Don't wait until it's too late.  God Bless!

Aileen's Birthday Card

I wanted to make a special card for my daughter, Aileen.  Today is her 30th birthday.  She lives in Brooklyn with her husband Josh, and since I couldn't be there to celebrate her big day, I worked on a card that was not like any one I've ever made in the past.  Here is what I made:

I learned how to make the flower at the Remarkables Weekend Retreat a few weeks ago.  I used a couple textures on the card, and also used the scoring tool for both the smaller square, which the flower is adhered to, and the larger square where I used the scallop trim border.  I also tied the top and bottom sections of the card with a strip of tangerine tango using the ribbon punch.  So what do you think of the masterpiece I created for Aileen?  I rather love it.  I hope you do too.  I wanted something unique like Aileen.  She received my card yesterday.  I had to mail it to her in a box since I didn't want the flower to squash in the mail.  It made it totally in tact.  YEAH!  So here's to Aileen on her 30th birthday.   Thanks for stopping by!

Coloring Down the Lines - Wild Wasabi

Welcome back to our blog hop this week.  I'm so glad you could join us.  Did you just come over from Carol's blog?  What did you think?  She always has something so creative to share, doesn't she?  This week's color comb was a choice of either Wild Wasabi, So Saffron, and Perfect Plum (the color combo I chose), or Wild Wasabi, Marina Mist, and Early Espresso.  Since I had just learned how to do the triple stamping, I thought I would try my color combo out on that technique.  Here's the finished product:
I am pleased the way it turned out.  I tried a couple different times to get it just right, and I actually mounted one on perfect plum paper too which looked awesome, but since the main color in the line up is wild wasabi, that is the base color I chose to use.  I hope you like it.  Now, shall we sneak on over to Gold Star Creations to see what she did with the colors this week?  Yes, I think so ... until tomorrow, have a super night!

Snow Much Fun - Team Swap

As promised, tonight I'm posting another team swap card we made this past Saturday.  This card was made by Patti.  It's really cute and we had a lot of fun making the card.

I made a lot of cards last year using the snowmen stamps in Stampin' Up's  "Snow Much Fun" set.  I just love snowmen, so it was nice using this set again.  Doesn't the snowman look like he's just waiting for someone to walk by so he can toss the snowball at them?  Ha Ha!

My kitty cat is getting spayed tomorrow and she will be coming home the same day.  Can you believe that?  I can't?  Also, I'm set to attend a dinner meeting tomorrow evening at the Concordville Inn in honor of National Business Women's Week.  It's being hosted by West Chester Business & Professional Women's Club (BPW).  I'm Treasurer for the Chesmont BPW, and we are hosting our Fall District Meeting next month.  It's been a busy month.  I made a raffle basket for tomorrow chock full of cards with matching boxes.  I also made a decorated composition book that turned out so cute.  This is the second basket of cards I made for raffles.   I made a bucket of cards for the Dress on a Dime benefit this past Sunday.  Donating my extra cards, as well as ones I've recently made, is very rewarding.  I'm glad they will be put to good use.

Well thank you again for stopping by.  I hope you enjoy tonight's post.  See you tomorrow for my weekly Coloring Down the Lines challenge.  G'night!

Winter Memories - Team Swap

We made some really nice cards to swap at our team meeting yesterday.  We all brought our card and enough to make 10 cards for everyone.  This is the first of the team swap cards I'm sharing tonight.  This card was made by Jessica.

I added the pearls to the wreath.  Jessica mentioned that she wanted to do that, and so when I got home, I added them.  I like the way it looks.  This is the first time I've used the Winter Memories Stamp Set.  I will most likely make more cards using this set.  Stay tuned for another team swap tomorrow night.  Until then...

Toxic Treats

I made this card at the Remarkables October weekend retreat this year and CASed the card from someone who placed it up on the board.  Unfortunately, there was no name on the card, so I don't know who to credit for it.  Anyway, I really liked it so here it is:

I actually cut the apothecary accents framelit in half when making this card so I had plenty to make multiples.  I like everything about this card.  You can't see it very well, but the card base is embossed with the spider web embossing folder.  Cute, isn't it?  A woman gave me the tip to emboss the "toxic treats" stamp onto a yellow piece of paper and then use tangerine tango around the outer edges and the middle remains yellow.  It was a great idea.  I did one on very vanilla card stock, and it just wasn't the same.  Hope you enjoy the card ... Until tomorrow.  happy stamping, and as always, thanks for stopping by.

Stampin Up's Christmas Ornaments

It wouldn't be Christmas if I didn't make the Christmas Ornaments on the front cover of the holiday catalog.  I had fun making them.  I actually helped a bunch of people make them at Jill's Super Stampin Saturday last weekend, so I feel like I can make them in my sleep.  We made a Christmas box for one of the ornaments, and also a Christmas tag too.  Check them out.  I really like them.

So what do you think?  Have you tried making them yet?  They're not really that hard.  They just take a lot of time.  But I must say, they are so worth it.  I'm planning on making some more and I'll be using other colors.  Stay tuned..... you'll want to see how they turn out.  Until tomorrow, have a wonderful evening!

Christmas Blessings

Well, tonight I have another Christmas card for you.  I used the Christmas Blessings stamp set in Stampin Up's 2012-2013 catalog.  It's a pretty stamp set, and I've only used it once for this card.  I water-colored the pointsettia because it looks much nicer than using straight marker.  The marker doesn't show the lines in the flower, so this worked great.  You can't see the "yellow" inside the flower, but it's there.  Guess I'll have to get a closer shot next time.  Hope you like it!

Tonight, I made my shoebox swap card for Saturday's team meeting, but can't share it with you until Saturday's post.  I don't want to spoil the surprise for the team.  I'm excited to share it but have to wait 2 more days, and so will you.  Until tomorrow, happy crafting!

Candy Cane Christmas

I finished my card bucket for the "Dress on a Dime" fund raiser this coming Sunday and it looked pretty good, if I must say so myself.  I decorated a composition notebook and put it inside the bucket with a set of two breast cancer pens.  I had a total of 40 cards, 5 of which were "hope" cards for survivors.  I hope it brings in some good revenue for the charity.

I realized I have another fund raiser for a dear young man who has brain cancer.  I offered to make a gift bucket of cards for that one too, and the fund raiser is in early December.  Once I get past next week's events, and the upcoming fund raiser for Deborah Hospital in November, I'll be able to devote my time to making the bucket for the December fund raiser, and my holiday cards.  I also have to make 10 cards for a shoebox swap this Saturday at our team meeting.  I'm certainly going to be busy.  Let the creating begin.

Anyway, here's my post for this evening.  It's a sweet and simple candy cane card.  What would Christmas be without candy canes, right?  Hope you like my post for this evening.

Thanks for stopping by again.  Feel free to leave your comments, if you wish.  I love reading them.  Until tomorrow ... have a good evening!

Coloring Down the Lines - Certainly Celery

Hi everyone, and welcome back!  I'm so glad you hopped on over from Carol's Cards to see what I've made for our blog hop this week.  Our mission was to create a card using either of the two color combinations:  Certainly Celery, Soft Suede, and Pink Piourette, or Certainly Celery, Whisper White, and Marina Mist.  I chose the easiest of the two color combinations which totally said "baby" to me.  I love the way the card turned out, and let's see if you like it too:

So what do you think?  I have the perfect person I'm going to give it to.  My friend became a grandmother to a sweet little baby boy last week, so to welcome her new little grandson, I'll make something real sweet for her, along with this card.  Oh how cute!!!  I can't wait to give it to her.

Well, I'm sure Gold Star Creations was really busy this week too with her color challenge.  Let's pop on over to her blog and see what she's made.  You know it's going to be a winner.

Thanks for stopping by.  I'm so grateful you did.  Until tomorrow ... stamp happy!

Winter Sleigh Ride

I made this card at the Remarkable Weekend Retreat a couple weeks ago, and I cannot take credit for it because I CASed it from someone at the retreat.  The person who made ity didn't have their name on the card.  I apologize for not being able to give credit where credit it due, and if I do ever find out who made this card, I will let you know.

But, it's such a pretty card, so I made one too.  I hope you enjoy it as much as I do.

I love the cherry cobbler against the very vanilla, and I used early espresso for the sleigh.  I liked it so much that I wanted to sharte it with you.  Until tomorrow ... thank you for stopping by.

Warm Winter Wishes - Snowman

The weather was quite nice today ~ a breezy 72 degrees.  The sun was shining, and we couldn't have had a more glorious day.  So I was trying to figure out what I should post for this evening, especially since it was so nice out.   It's hard to think about Christmas and get into the holiday spirit with weather like this.  But ... in keeping with last night's post of Warm Winter Wishes, I thought I would share with you the snowman I made that I CASed from Stress Free Stamping.  I changed the scarf up a bit, but he still looks nice and warm.

Isn't he so cute???  It's a simple, but sweet card.  I love it.  The white on white worked well, and it's a card that will last all through winter.  Until tomorrow ... keep on stamping.  Thank you for stopping by!

Warm Winter Wishes - Winter Cap

When you think about winter, you think about mittens, hats, scarves, snowmen, snowflakes, and the like.  So when I saw a card made on pinterest of a knit cap, I couldn't help but try and make it.  My card is a bit different because I changed the colors up a bit and added a little extras.  I think the card has a wintery look to it, and yet gives you a feeling of being snug and warm.

,
What do you think?  Isn't it cute as a button?  I added the jingle bell on the brim for some interest and cut the pompom out of a piece of sweater ribbon from Stampin Up and fluffed it up a bit.  I also used the velvet ribbon from last year's holiday mini and whola, there you have it.

I hope you like it.  Thank you all for stopping by, and I hope to see you again tomorrow.

Season's Greeting Holiday Ornament

Tomorrow is Super Stampin Saturday at Christ's Church of the Valley in Royersford, and I'm helping with the event.  I'm so excited.  We're going to have such a blast!  The event is from 10 - 5, and I can't wait to come home with all the goodies we're going to make too.

One of the things I signed up for is the holiday ornament on the cover of Stampin Up's holiday catalog.  It's so pretty and I can't wait to finally make it.  It looks like a lot of work, but it will be well worth it.

I really like the Ornament Keepsakes stamp set, so I decided to make another card using it.  That's what I've made for you this evening.  Here it is:

It came out pretty nice.  I used midnight muse card stock and scored the background using the scoring tool.  Hope you like it.  Until tomorrow ... happy stamping!

Merry Christmas Pointsettia

I saw this card on the Stampin Connection and just had to make it.  I apologize I don't remember who actually created it, but want to give credit where credit is due.  It was a fun card to make, and I received so many compliments at the Remarkables Weekend Retreat regarding this card.  Take a peek and see what you think:

Don't you agree?  I love the different textures on the card.  It adds a lot of interest and catches your eye.  I water colored the pointsettia and added a few pearls for the center.  I just love this card and hope you do too.   Until tomorrow ... keep stampin!

Christmas Cheer

I just love the "happy hour" stamp set, so I decided to use it to make a Christmas "cheer" card.  I love the way it turned out.  I used "raspberry ripple and gumball green ribbon.   Check it out:

I just got back from a business trip, so I hadn't had time to make any new cards.  I also ended up with a horrible head and chest cold, and went to the doctor's to get some meds to knock this out of me.  I am just so exhausted.  I have to work on two raffle baskets made of cards, a fund raiser with a project, and birthday cards for my upcoming workshop.  In addition, I am making a sympathy card for Jayna, the young woman that passed away yesterday.  I'm so sad for her and her family.  It's so hard to believe I was helping her with her make and takes on Saturday, chatted with her on Sunday, and now she's gone.  God bless her family and have mercy on her soul.

Well, thanks for listening.  Check back with me tomorrow for some more goodies.  Happy Stamping!

Coloring Down the Lines - So Saffron

Welcome back to our blog hop this week.  This week's challenge was to use either one of the color combinations:  so saffron, rose red, and wild wasabi, or so saffron, riding hood red, and soft suede.  I chose the first color set - the creative combination.  You may have just come over from Carol's Cards, and she always has something unique to share with us. Here's mine using my color choice:

I really like the butterfly punch, and I especially love making objects 3D.  You may not be able to see it real good, but if you look closer, you can see the butterfly is 3D.  I also embossed it with clear embossing powder to give it dimension and interest.

Now that you've hopped through a few of our blogs, let's hop on over to see what gold star creations has for us.  Ready?  Here we go ...

Frightening Feline or Glamour Kitty

Hi everyone.  I'm back from the Remarkables October Weekend Retreat and had a great time.  I met a lot of new friends, and we're all just like one big family.

I didn't get a whole lot of cards done like I wanted to, but I was happy with what I did complete.  I learned how to make some flowers I've wanted to make, and my friend Sharon showed me how.  Sharon makes such beautiful things - I sure wish I had her talent.  I'm learning though, and thank you Sharon for always sharing your beautiful works of art with me.  I will be happy to show you my flowers after I make a card to put them on.  Stay tuned for that.

In the meantime, I thought I would share some of my cards.  I actually CASed this card from another stamper, and I just loved it so I thought I would share it with you too.  Since it's almost Halloween, the card fits the mood.  So is she a frightening feline, or a glamour kitty?  You decide ...

I used a little "bling" to add interest to her eyes.  She could either be spooky or mysterious!

Lastly, before I end for the day, please say a prayer for a young lady who has some serious medical issues who attended our retreat this weekend.  She is from out of state and was rushed to the hospital this early afternoon.  All of us at the retreat got together in a circle, held hands, and prayed for her.  We hope she will be ok.  God bless her and her family.  Thank you!

Ornament Keepsake Christmas Card

I wanted to make a card using the Ornament Keepsake stamp set, so I sat down and designed the card I'm posting this evening.  I wanted to make a simple card, but elegant at the same time.  I used the Window Frames Collection Framelits for this card to give it some dimension.  This is the card I am using as my swap card at the Remarkables Weekend Retreat this weekend.  We decided to do a swap with our table.  There's 5 of us that sit together, and it will be a fun weekend, no doubt.

I wish you could see that I have glitter all over the ornament.  It's hard to capture that with the lighting I have in my craft studio.  I think I'll look into getting better lighting so that the pictures come out a little crisper and clear.

Well, we leave for New Cumberland for the Remarkables Weekend Retreat tomorrow, and I hope to post some of my goodies over the weekend, but if not, I'll make sure I post something on Sunday when I return.  I'll also be traveling for a couple days after I return from the retreat, but I'll make sure I post something for the blog hop next week too.

Have a great weekend.  It's supposed to be chilly and rainy, so cuddle up and stay warm.

Three Little Gingerbread men

Today was a muggy day, rainy, and just plain yukky!  It's hard to get into the holiday spirit when the weather is rather balmy, but since I created some Christmas cards over the weekend, I thought I would share another one with you.  This one I really love.  I CAS'd it from Colleen Begley on Pinterest.  Mine looks very similar to hers, without a few extra pieces of DSP.  Here is my variation:

The more I look at this card, the more I love it.  It's so happy and Christmasy.  Thank you Colleen for the inspiration.  See you tomorrow.

Coloring down the Lines - Pink Pirouette

Well it's that time again ... blog hop!  I always look forward to each week when we can post our creations.  It's always fun seeing what everyone came up with.  Did you enjoy what Carol had for you this week?  As always, I hope I can match it.

Our challenge this week is Pink Pirouette, Baja Breeze and Early Espresso, or Pink Pirouette, Sahara Sand and Always Artichoke.  I chose the "creative combination"  - the first color combo.  My inspiration came from a post I saw on Pinterest, but the person didn't have her/his name on it, so I can't give credit where credit is due.  I'm sorry about that, and if I do find out who it is, I promise to "thank" her.

I hope you like my design this week.  Now, let's go over and see what surprise Gold Star Creations has in store for us.  Thanks for the visit!

Noel Christmas Card

I had a great day in my craft studio yesterday creating cards to my heart's content.  I focused on Christmas most of the day, but jumped ahead with some of my blog hop posts for the next couple weeks.

Here is one of my favorites that I created.  It was a little tedious, but I really liked the way it turned out.  I took a bunch of Christmas paper, cut them into strips of 1/2 inch, then punched them all with SU's ribbon punch, staggered them, and whola ... what a pretty card, if I must say so myself.  See if you agree.

I put it against a red background so you could see it better.  There's a little bling in the middle of the star above the Noel.  I hope you like it.

I'm heading to the airport in a little while to pick up my son.  He's coming home from Europe today after being away for 8 weeks.  I can't wait to see him.  Sounds like he and his friend Drew had a blast.  Until tomorrow ... have a wonderful day!
