Gift Card Holder for Linda

I saw this cute gift card / birthday present card made by Julie Davison, so I hopped on over to her blog and watched her video and whola, the card was done in a snap.  It was quite easy, and it turned out super cute.  The only think I did differently was to use another birthday DSP and I put a rhinestone in the bow at the top of the present.  Love, Love this holder.  Check it out.

I made two of these so I could keep one for myself.  LOL.  Too cute .. I can make this again in no time.

Hope you like it.  Kudos to Julie for quite a clever, cute card/gift card holder.

Coloring Down the Lines - Distressed Flower Pot

This week's challenge is to use the colors:  smoky slate, basic gray, midnight muse, cherry cobbler, wild wasabi, and so saffron.  Now we don't have to use all the colors on the card, but we have a photo and color chart to follow.  Here's the color chart and photo we used:

So after thinking about the colors for a bit, I came up with this card ... I distressed the basic gray matting around the card, but it may be a bit hard to see in the photograph.

I chose to use all the colors in the pallet, and I hope you like it.

If you've arrived here from Carol's blog, please make sure you proceed on to Joni's blog and see what she has also created for you this week.

Have a wonderful day!  Thanks so much for stopping by.

Christmas in May

Saturday's challenge was to make 10 Christmas cards.  Although I'm not thinking about Christmas in the beginning of Spring, who can pass up a challenge?  Besides, that's 10 cards I don't have to make when Christmas is finally here.

I'm anxious to see what the rest of the team made for their cards.  I wanted to make something simple, but nice.  So that's what I did.  Take a look ...

And there you have it.  10 cards ... ready for the holiday.  Stay tuned for tomorrow's challenge.  G'night!

Peaceful Petals Blendabilities

Saturday's challenge is to create a card where you color the image using either markers or blendabilities.  This is my first blendabilities card, so I wanted it to be special.  I'm getting used to blending, but will have to practice a bit more.  I do like the way the card turned out, although critical me, the "thank you" is a bit crooked.  Oh well ... it's homemade!  Hope you like it.

The more I look at the card, the more I like it.  Now, for Sunday's challenge .... get ready!  Please stop back and see.

Memorial Day Pajama Party - Father's Day Card

This weekend, our team is having a virtual pajama party, and each day, it's a different challenge.  Friday night's challenge is either a "Father's Day" card or make something using something from the new catalog.  I decided to make a father's day card since I always wait until the last minute and then I'm scrambling to get one done in time.  This one I'm going to give to my husband, since he loves boating.  I used two of the new 2014-16 "in colors":  lost lagoon and hello honey.  The added touch is cherry cobbler.  Here's what I posted on our team blog:

Stay tuned ... we're waiting for Saturday's challenge.  I'll post it as soon as I make my card.  Happy Memorial day weekend!!!

Linda's Birthday Card - Happy 50th!

My sister, Linda, turned 50 on May 5 - Cinco de Mayo!  Her daughters had a party for her on Sunday, the 18th, but it didn't end up being a surprise.  They threw a wine tasting party, and it was quite fun.

I wanted to make a nice card for her, so I CASED the card from Teris Craft Spot, but I changed up the colors.  I liked her card a lot and wanted to make it - so I went to work, using colors from the color cards and this is what I came up with:

The scalloped tag topper was a bit challenging at first, but I got it on the 2nd try.  I've only made this type of card once before, and I must have measured it incorrectly and didn't leave enough room for the tabs.  LOL.

Anyway, the more I practice, the better I'll get.  The style is cute .. so I'll have to make more.

Thanks for stopping by!

An Anniversary Card for Aileen and Josh - 6 Years!

I found this cute card on pinterest that I thought would be cute to make for Aileen and Josh's 6 year wedding anniversary, which is June 1.  It's very simple, and since Aileen loves clean and simple, I thought this would be just the right card.

I chose to do the flowers using vellum and embossed.  I like the way they turned out.  My card is slightly different from the one on pinterest (sorry, I didn't get the name of the person who originally made the card), but I'm very pleased how it turned out.

I hope they like the card I made ... and let me know what you think.  I love reading your comments.

Cheers!

A Very Grateful Birthday

I bought the stamp set, "So Very Grateful" a while ago and never used it.  Well, I wanted to make something with it, and saw a few cards using it, and so I put my hand to the paper and inks to come up with my own version.  I love subtle, so this card fits the description.  Take a peek:

The card that gave me this inspiration was by Ann Schach of The Stampin Schach.  I love her stuff.  This is my version of her card .. but mine doesn't compare to hers.  Enjoy!

Coloring Down the Lines - Free for All Design

Last week, I wasn't so fortunate to have the picture and color pallet show on my blog, so this week, I tried saving the pictures to my desktop in hopes that this time, it will work.

I had a real hard time coming up with a design this week with the colors we are to use.  It wasn't so much the colors, but a design.  I wanted to do something different than I'm used to, but every time I tried something, I didn't like it.  Some weeks, the colors and designs just stump me, and this week is no exception.

Well, first let me start out by sharing the color pallet and picture.  That was missing from last weeks entry, so let's hope it shows up this week.  Here you go ..

SUCCESS!  Now that you see the colors, that's half the battle.   Now .. did you arrive here from Carol's blog?  If not, make sure you pop on back over because she always has something sweet to share.  And also, don't forget to check out Joni's submission this week too.  She's amazing how she nails it every time.

Now .. drum roll, please!  Here's what I finally ended up creating this week.  Hope you like it.

Recipe:
Paper:  whisper white, pistachio pudding, soft suede
Ink:  pistachio pudding, pear pizzazz, tempting turquoise, soft suede, real red, old olive
Stamp Sets:  moving forward (retired), hardwood, wetlands
Accessories:  old olive seam binding, word window punch (retired)

I'm learning the brayer technique, and I thought I would try it on this card.  I used it for the grass, but decided to use the sponge for the sky.  It's not the best, but I'll get better the more I practice.

Thanks for stopping by this week.  Sure hope you'll be back next week.  I'm off to Birmingham, Alabama this week, so I'll be anxious to get back to creating ...

A Kaleidoscope Birthday

When I think of birthdays, I always think of happy, fun colors.  The kaleidoscope designer series paper by Stampin' Up has just the right colors.  I decided to use it for this card ... see what you think.

This card can be used for both male and female.  In any case, it's ready to give to a deserving someone!

CASED Bouquet

I found this cute card on Pinterest an just has to make it.  I decided to do a card using the brand new "in colors" for 2014-16.  So now you'll get a sneak peek at the colors if you haven't already seen them.

I CASED this card from "Stamping Night Owl", however, I substituted the new "in colors" for my card.  I thought it was very cute, although I must say, I like her's better, but mine turned out pretty cute too.

Here it is ... hope you like it.

Recipe
Paper:  whisper white, vellum, tangelo twist, mossy meadow
Ink:  blackberry bliss, hello honey, lost lagoon, mossy meadow, tangelo twist
Stamp Sets:  petite petals, lots of thanks
Accessories:  ticket punch, petite petals punch, fringe scissors, 3/8" stitched satin ribbon (hello honey), basic rhinestones

Ciao for now!  Please stop back again soon.

A Million & One Thanks

We can never have enough thank you cards, so I decided to make some.  I saw a card that resembled this one, so I added a twist and made this:

I made this for someone, but I think I might make another one just for me.  I really like this card.  Hope you do too.  Thanks for stopping by!

Moving Forward, Thank You

I love this retired stamp set, "Moving Forward" ... it's so cute.  I can still find a lot of uses for it.  I was making some thank you cards for a friend, so what better way to use this cute stamp set than now.  Spring has sprung, and it's time for riding our bicycles, and of course, what would Spring be without flowers.  You can see I put a couple flowers in the basket on the bicycle ... just so sweet.  Hope you like it.

And away we go .... wheeeee!

A Framed Thank You

I made some cards for a friend of my sister, and I did a lot of CASING.  This card was CASED, and I wish I could remember who it was CASED from .. but I forgot to write down the person's name/blog.  My apologies...

My card doesn't look as nice as the original, but it's kind of a fun card.  Here's my version ...

It looks a little busy, but using happy colors makes it a fun card.  Hope you like it!

Coloring Down the Lines - Layered Rectangles

We've changed up our blog hop a bit - and I missed last week, so I made sure I was in for this week.  We're using a photograph or drawing, with the added Stampin' Up colors that closest match it.  I must say, this was a bit challenging for me.  After I got moving, I was ok.

Anyway, since we're all back in the lineup again, I hope you popped over here from Carol's blog so you could see what she did with the colors of the week.  As always, I love seeing what my dear friends have created - they're all so talented!

Here's the photograph we used, along with the colors this week:

Now that you've seen mine - using all the colors from the photograph, let's check out what Joni made for us and see how she incorporated the colors, and which ones she used!

Have a great week, and do stop back.  There's always a treat in store for you.

Hugs!

Happy Birthday, April Team Swap

This is the last of the April team swaps that I have for you.  Unfortunately, I'm not quite sure who made it because there wasn't a name on it.  I'm sure I'll figure it out sooner or later, but wanted to at least post it so you could see.

It had to either be Lisa or Connie.  Not sure .. but I'll make sure I give credit where credit's due when I do find out.

You Can Never Have Enough Happy Candy Box

Well who wouldn't put "happy" and "candy" in the same sentence?  I just love the Stampin' Up wood half boxes - there's so much you can do with them.  Here's just an example for you ... we made this cute Hershey's nugget candy box using one and decorated it so cute.

and now for the inside ...

Check out all the candy nuggets inside.  They're all wrapped so pretty - you almost don't want to eat them.!

Pam's Team Swap for April

Pam chose a floral theme for her April team swap card.  I bought this stamp set, but I have yet to use it.  I haven't had any inspiration for this card, yet, but I feel it coming.  Stay tuned ...

I think I might water color this one, or use my blender pen.  Hummmm .... let's see.

Oh Happy, April Team Swap

This is a card Megan made for our April team swap.  We had to use the retiring "in-colors" for our swaps, so Megan chose midnight muse for her card.  It's a really cool looking card ... take a look.

Now wouldn't this make a nice birthday card - especially a masculine one.  We never can have enough of those.

April Team Swap - Cutie Rhino

This card is one from our April team swap that Jill made.  I love this little rhino - he's so sweet, and I just learned how to make the tab punch card, so you'll be seeing that one later on in my posts.

In the meantime, enjoy this cutie ...

Cute, cute, cute!

An Easter Card From My Friend, Linda

My friend, Linda, is so sweet.  She always thinks of people, and what a surprise when I received this beautiful Easter card in the mail with a short note from her.  I was so blessed to receive it, and I just wanted to share it with you.

What a lovely card, don't you think?  Just gives me more incentive to create, create, create!

Another April Team Swap

I just love the team swaps.  You come home with all sorts of cards, and in this case, a cute little bunny basket.  Patti made this for our April team swap, and I am crazy about it.  I'm definitely going to make some for my Easter table, and maybe I'll mix in some other kind too.  Too flippin' cute!

Can you see him on the dinner table, stuffed with some Easter grass and candy or jelly beans?  I just love him!

Team Swap - April

For our team swap this month, we were to make something using the 2012-2013 in colors since they will be retiring in June.  Because I absolutely love the petite flowers, how fitting that I would use that stamp set to make my card this month.  It turned out cute, I must say ... I love it.  Hope you do too.

I just love how it turned out.  I made some extra so I have them to send out, when I need a card.
Happy Spring!!!!

Vivid Vases Thinking of You

Yes, this is another card I CASED from Pinterest by Susie Wood.  I loved the colors on this card, so I made one too.  The sweet sorbet dsp really makes the card ... check it out.

I just love this card ... so sweet.

Simple Thank You

This card I also made for my friend, and it's just a clean, simple card that I CASED from Debra Carrier over at Splitcoast.  I added a  little shadowing to the peaceful petals.  I love this card.  Take a peek.

Simple, easy peasy.  Hope you like it.

You're So Lovely - Thinking of You

This is another card I CASED from Pinterest that I made for my friend at work.  I love the feminine look to this card, and the soft colors just blend well together.  Who wouldn't love receiving a card like ?  Love it!

I changed the card up slightly and added the chevon-striped ribbon.  Hope you like it as much as my friend does.
