Easter Treats

I know Easter was a while ago now, but since I now can post pictures, I thought I'd share some Easter treats that I made for my family. It's an older kit that is retired, but I re-purposed it and made these:

They were a hit. I filled them with Easter eggs. I can reuse them again too. All I need to do is replace the Happy Easter, and whola.

Until tomorrow ... enjoy!

Monica's Birthday Card

Monica is a coworker who always bakes cakes and cupcakes for everyone's birthday. I make the cards, and Monica bakes. What a combo, right? Yep, we love it.

So it's only fitting that Monica get a nice birthday card too. Her birthday was last week, so this is the card I made for her, and we all signed it.

Notice how I stamped a cake on the card, and of course, the saying was fitting as well. Needless to say, we bought her cupcakes, and the rest is history. Now, on to the next birthday person.

Cheers!

Tom's Retirement Card

I didn't know what to make for a retirement card for a person I worked with for a while. I used to report to him a long while ago, but he left an impression on me. You know how you can meet someone and they may never know what an impression they made on you? Well, Tom is one of them. He was an army ranger and served for many years. When I worked under him, he was very much the opposite of what his exterior would show. He is a very kind and gentle person, with a tremendous love for his wife, and the stories he shared with me made me see him so differently than anyone else would see. He likes woodworking, and of course, gardening with his wife.

He has decided to retire and spend time with his wife, perhaps travel and garden. He told me his wife recently got her degree in gardening. Imagine the possibilities that will bring.

So I tried to come up with a card to make for him, and although I'm not crazy about it, I put it together and I'm trying to figure out if I will give him this one or make another one. Not too sure yet, but here's the card I first made:

The card seems very plain, and although I don't see a lot of fuss and bling for him, I just may make something else and see which one I like better.

Anyway, whichever I chose, I'll let you know which one I give him. I don't have much time ... by Friday, that's it.

Stop by later to see what I decided to do.

Cheers!
Helen

Coloring Down the Lines - You've Got the World ..

Hello and Happy Wednesday. It seems like I've already worked an entire week, and it's only half way through. Oh my!!!

Anyway, I managed to get my card created for this week's blog hop. As always, I look forward to making these cards, and sometimes get inspired to keep on creating.

What we had to work with this week is a cute, inspiring photograph that says "happy" to me. Take a look:

And keeping with the happy theme, I decided to make a card that is simple. No big frills or embellishments, but one that just hits the mark. Here is what I came up with for you:

And there you have it. Simple, and to the point. It works, and I'm sure it would make someone happy.

Now that you've seen what I've created this week, hop on over to see what Ms. Joni made for you. And if you haven't stopped by to see Amanda's creation, please hop on backward one to check it out. As always, you'll never be disappointed with anyone's entry for the week.

Happy Stamping!

A Card for Sean

Our Director of several years is in a job rotation program at work, and for his parting, we decided to make him a card and all of us sign it. Of course, you know who got elected to make the card, which I was honored!

I decided to make the card a 7 x 10 so all 60 of us could sign it. I made an extra insert, which you cannot see, so that it was almost like a book. This is the design I came up with for the front:

Needless to say, it was a nice card and he was very grateful and honored that we thought of him. We wish him well, but will miss him a lot.

Good luck, Sean!

Library Class Note Cards

This month's library class included a set of 5 note cards and envelopes. I typically do 2 cards and one project, but this time, I wanted to make some note cards.

I love flowers, as most of you know, so what better way to use them than on note cards. Note cards can be used for many different occasions, so I put these together and they were a hit.

The first card just wouldn't stay closed - that little bugger. O well, you get the idea. I think I might make note cards again before the end of the year, just to change it up a bit.

Well, hope you like them. Leave a comment, if you so choose.

Hugs,
Helen

Jill's birthday card

This was a card I made for Jill, my SU upline, back in March. The card looks so much prettier in person, but I tried to get the photograph to reflect that.

I love the blushing bride glimmer paper, so I decided to use it in this card. It's festive, and I'm all about the bling and festive.

Take a look:

Hope you like it. Blushing bride is a pretty color and one of my favs.

Bye for now.

Coloring Down the Lines - Grateful Bunch of Flowers

It feels so great to be back. Now my computer is very slow still, but at least I can type and post. YIPPIE!

Anyway, let me get right down to it. Below is the photograph and color pallet we used for our challenge this week. Let's take a peek:

What a nice bunch of daffodils, wouldn't you say? Now here's my interpretation:

Recipe
Cardstock:  tip top taupe, so saffron, whisper white, garden green, daffodil delight
Ink:  tip top taupe, daffodil delight, so saffron
Stamp sets: grateful bunch, timeless textures
Accessories: clear embossing, bird punch, flower punch, delicate ornaments thinlit, basic pearls

I used clear embossing for the lacy decoration on the flower pot and it made the pot just pop. Love how that turned out. I think the rest speaks for itself.

I hope you enjoyed my post. Now please make sure you've visited Our Crafty Playdate's blog, and then hop on over to Joni in the Spotlight Stamping's blog. You'll be most impressed.

Thanks for stopping by.

Hugs,
Helen

Dad's 89th Birthday Card

Can you believe, my father turned 89 years young on April 1? He's still spry as ever, and drives a car. Yes, drives. I'm glad he doesn't drive too far though. Just piddling around to the food market and picking up his medications is plenty. God bless him!

Here's the birthday card I made for him. He loved it, of course, and I spent most of the day with him. What fun ... for both of us.

It's a fun card, full of celebration. I love those honeycomb embellishments too. Can't get enough of them!

I hope you stop back and see what I have for you tomorrow. Thanks for supporting me and leaving your lovely comments.

Ciao for now.
